Walk for Farm Animals ~ Weekend in Review

Busy weekend! The Toronto Walk for Farm Animals, a birthday dinner and checking out a new vegan bakery!

ParfaitFueling myself for the Walk for Farm Animals with some parfait. Soy yogurt, homemade granola and Saskatoon Berry Jam.

Walk for Farm AnimalsThere was a great turn-out for the walk! It was a gorgeous day for it too! I raised $535 this year and plan on topping that next year for the Walk for Farm Animals.

GeneAfter meeting Gene at Farm Sanctuary and seeing him at the Vegetarian Food Festival, I finally got a photo with him at the Walk.

GoodiesYummy goodies after the Walk were supplied by Bunner’s Bake Shop (cookie), Tori’s Bakeshop (savory biscuit) and Sweets for the Earth (mint brownie)

Red LeavesHoly crow! Is it fall already?! These red leaves looked gorgeous, despite the group of sketching looking guys smoking pot underneath it.

BLT Caesar SaladSaturday night I went to Grasslands with a group of very lovely ladies for Marissa’s birthday. I had the BLT Caesar with grilled chick’n and it was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend it. One of the best vegan Caesars I’ve ever had.

Whedonverse WomenHanging out Sunday morning, watching some Buffy the Vampire Slayer while wearing my Women of Whedonverse tee I won from Neatorama.

TBCSunday afternoon, after some lateness with the streetcar and subway, I finally made it to Through Being Cool Vegan Baking Co. to meet my friend Lisa. Their space is kind of sparse right now, so I hope they get a couple small tables and chairs in there.

Pumpkin Spice LatteDonut My selection was a pumpkin spice latte made with almond milk (delicious) and a sprinkle donut. Ok, I must say I have eaten my fair share of vegan donuts in my 7 years as a vegan (today is my 7 year veganniversary), and this donut is probably most like the Tim Horton donuts I remember from my youth (and short career working at Tim Hortons)

All in all, a fantastic weekend!
