Reading Wednesday ~ James Potter
I’m in the midst of reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardobe by C.S. Lewis right now, but I want to talk to you about a book series I JUST found out about!
I was late getting on the Harry Potter band wagon, but once I started, I eagerly gobbled up all seven books in a manner of weeks and then… I had nothing! It was terrible. I fell in love with these characters and there world and then it was all over. I even read the Harry Potter Prequel, but it was a mere morsel that didn’t satiate my hunger much at all.
Well not anymore! Again, I seem to be a bit late in the game, but better late than never! On Goodreads I found out about the James Potter series by G. Norman Lippert. The first book is called James Potter and the Hall of Elders Crossing.
The book follow’s James, Harry’s son, at his first year at Hogwarts, living in the shadow of his famous father, but he gets into his own adventure where he must stop a war from breaking out between the Muggle and Magical worlds.
Lippert wrote his first Potter fan fiction in 2007 and it kind of took off. With the blessing of J.K. Rowling, two more stories followed. Surprisingly, given how devoted Harry Potter fans are, the books have received excellent reviews as well. A friend has sent me copies of the 3 books for my Kindle. As soon as I’m done with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, I’m diving into James Potter. I can come back to The Chronicles of Narnia when I’ve had my fill of Hogwarts.
Have you read the James Potter books? What did you think?
